This dynamic role combines responsible driving with vigilant security duties, providing a vital service that keeps our community safe and connected. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a passion for customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate mini buses for transporting children, seniors, or staff according to scheduled routes and special requests. Adhere strictly to traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations during all driving activities. Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, disembarking, and provide support for those with mobility challenges. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; perform basic vehicle maintenance checks. Respond promptly to traffic changes or route adjustments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Maintain clear communication with dispatch or security team regarding route status, incidents, or emergencies. Monitor premises during night hours, conducting security patrols and managing access points to safeguard property and personnel. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents; administer first aid or CPR if necessary. Enforce passenger safety protocols and behavior management policies to ensure a respectful environment. Complete detailed reports on transportation activities, security incidents, and vehicle condition at the end of each shift. Skills Proven experience in bus driving, school bus operation, or transit bus operation with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations applicable at state and local levels. Strong understanding of emergency response procedures for transportation-related incidents including CPR and first aid certification. Ability to assist passengers with disabilities, including wheelchair assistance and behavior management. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of writing clear reports and conveying information effectively. Familiarity with school policy knowledge, child care protocols, senior care considerations, and student discipline procedures. Demonstrated defensive driving skills; quick response to traffic changes; adherence to emergency stop procedures. Physical ability for heavy lifting when necessary; comfortable working during night shifts in various weather conditions. Exceptional customer service attitude; proactive in ensuring passenger safety and comfort at all times.
