City School Bus Driver

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This vital role requires a responsible individual who can handle driving duties with professionalism, communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, and uphold safety standards at all times. As a School Bus Driver, you will play a key part in fostering a positive environment for children while maintaining excellent customer service and adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations.

Essential Job Duties:

• Directly responsible to the Transportation Expeditor.
• Responsible for the safe transportation of pupils to and from school.
• Submit reports as required; gas consumption, mileage, number of pupils transported, etc.
• Be familiar with the State of Ohio regulations and rules concerning the safe operation of the bus.
• Attend safety meetings as directed.
• Assist in the formulation of bus routes and submit bus schedule with pupil's name as directed.
• Be responsible for the cleanliness of the bus and proper functioning of safety equipment such as windshield wipers, turn signals, etc.
• Park vehicle in designated area.
• Maintain daily driving schedule as set up.
• Maintain orderly conduct of pupils at all times. Report misbehavior of pupils and follow corrective action as directed.
• Report all accidents to proper civil authorities and school officials immediately.
• Perform any other bus related duties as directed by the Transportation Expeditor.
• Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School District Board of Education.
• Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Business Operations, or his/her designee.
• Upon successful completion of probationary period, and meeting all State of Ohio CDL requirements and established pre-employment and other employment requirements established by the Warren City School District, a contracted employee has the option for medical benefits, earned paid sick, personal and vacation time, as established by IUOE Local 95 union contract We invite questions or opportunities for driver trainees to call the Transportation Office at (330) 841-2265!
