Job Description

General Position Description Drive and maintain bus and safety of children at all times.
  • To drive the Head Start bus to transport children and others to and from Head Start functions; obeying all Pennsylvania State rules concerning buses and bus driving; performing duties as needed when not driving the bus, and maintaining assigned documents.
Small, 24 passenger bus with 18 children maximum and one assistant. .
Part time position:
Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays Off, Employer Paid Life Insurance, Employer Paid Short Term Disability Insurance. Optional Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Educational requirements: High School diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working with preschool (ages 3-5) classrooms is preferred.
  • A current Pennsylvania Class C or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "P" and "S" endorsements
  • Must pass clearances prior to first day of employment (FBI fingerprinting, State Police, Child Abuse, National Sex Offender Registry)
  • A current CDL Physical form and card
  • Immediately upon hire, a TB test must be completed.
  • Must be able to pass DOT Drug/Alcohol testing upon hire and randomly during employment
  • Frequent significant decision and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, parents and community resources.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to an emergency or a crisis situation.
  • Must be able to do daily required pre trips inspections
  • Sees that bus is maintained (including cleaning) so that it is safe for the transportation of children and others and reporting safety concerns to the Director
  • Maintains bus records as required by Director (i.e. attendance, bus log, transportation related documents, etc.) Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Employment Type Part-Time Key Responsibilities
  • 20-30 hours a week (part time hours negotiated). Can pick up additional duties in the classroom or office as assigned.
  • Pick up and transport lunches to assigned classrooms, as needed.
  • Bus routes and communication
Pay:
$17.25 - $17.50 per hour
