Apply today, and drive the future forward with Centura Public Schools! Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and mechanical integrity. Communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and any issues that may arise. Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely, ensuring their comfort and security. Maintain accurate records of daily routes, student attendance, and any incidents that occur during transport. Provide exceptional customer service to students and their families while fostering a positive atmosphere. Manage student behavior on the bus, implementing effective behavior management strategies. Remain calm and composed in emergency situations, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Pass mandatory drug screening requirements. Experience Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Reimbursement of training costs is a possibility for the right candidate. Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance is beneficial. Strong writing and/or computer skills for documentation and communication purposes are advantageous.
