Split Schedule-before and afterschool routes as well as school trips/events Non Exempt, Part-time Position Summary As a bus driver for Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, the responsibility of safely transporting our students to and from school is an important part of the daily school operations. Heathwood is seeking drivers for morning and afternoon bus routes. Responsible, reliable and safe transporting of student passengers along designated routes while adhering to strict schedule and traffic laws are primary in the list of expectations. Bus drivers serve as the primary point of contact for passengers, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment. Essential Functions Transport passengers safely along pre-determined routes and schedules timely Conduct safety pre-trip and post trip vehicle inspections Obey all local, state, and federal traffic regulations Report mechanical issues, traffic delays, or accidents Maintain a clean vehicle Specific Job Skills The ideal candidate will: Have no more than 4 points against the current driving record within the past 12 months. Strong awareness of customer to ensure professional, polite, and courteous communication Be punctual and reliable to meet service requirements Be alert and focused for optimal safety during bad weather or heavy traffic Ability to pass physical and drug testing as required by the SCDOT annually and comply with random screening requirements. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2 year degree preferred Current, valid commercial driver's license with (P) Passenger transport AND (S) School Bus endorsements Completion of SC Department of Education School Bus Driver Certification requirements or proof of completed certification. Working Conditions Expansive school campus with 122+ acres, must be able to travel between buildings independently.
