Students from grades 6 -12 come from all over the world seeking college preparatory school education in liberal arts. At present, the school enrolls students from 12 U.S. states and over 20 countries. The Webb School has a reputation of being one of the top private boarding schools in the nation. Webb's small school community has an average enrollment of 350 day and boarding students and an emphasis on honor that truly creates a premier learning environment. The 150-acre campus is located in a rural setting 50 miles southeast of Nashville. Bus Driver Position Overview Safely operate a school or activity bus transporting Webb School students from campus to/from a single, fixed location (point-to-point, no route driving) Monitor student conduct and enforce behavioral expectations with a pleasant demeanor Actively monitor the mechanical condition of the bus and report when necessary Maintain the interior by gathering lost items, emptying trash, and sweeping bus daily Summary of Responsibilities Operate a school bus by assessing traffic and road conditions, monitoring student behavior and other factors necessary to safely deliver student passengers to and from school. Understand and adhere to applicable state laws and school policies. Use student roster provided by school to verify boarding. Notify administration of unlisted students. Perform bus safety pre-trip inspections as required by law to ensure proper vehicle working condition. Maintains all safety equipment. Performs post-trip inspection to check for vandalism, lost articles or sleeping students. Communicate to maintenance any defects and mechanical needs. Monitor student behavior and provide a written report for any serious incidents of misconduct. Communicates student conduct and route information to parents and school staff as necessary. Maintains a safe and sanitary bus environment for students by sweeping and dusting the interior daily. Attend all required safety training and certification training for CPR/First Aid Performs daily record-keeping activities, such as pre-trip inspection forms.
