Job Description
Full Time - Bus Driver/Vehicle Fleet Maintenance The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Bus Driver/Vehicle Fleet Maintenance at our Brenham Campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below: Job Summary To provide transportation services for athletic teams, student organization groups, or other college groups needing transportation to and from events as well as maintaining and servicing motor pool vehicles on a routine basis. Principal Accountabilities 1. Transports athletic teams, student organization groups, and other college groups to and from events. 2. Maintains a State of Texas Class b CDL license with passenger endorsement. 3. Cleans and services all fleet vehicles including washing, vacuuming, maintaining exterior and interior surfaces. 4. Performs routine and assigned daily service on all fleet vehicles including checking oil, tire pressure, brake and transmission fluids, filling fuel tanks, and similar related tasks. 5. Takes fleet vehicles to local lube and repair center for oil changes, state inspections, tire rotation, replacement, vehicle repairs, and similar related tasks. 6. Keeps accurate records on service inspection reports and maintenance performed. 7. Assists with scheduling fleet vehicles and buses for employee and student travel. 8. Monitors and coordinates maintenance, fueling, inspections, repairs, and specialty needs of fleet vehicles. 9. Maintains accurate filing system for all transportation vehicles, including lease fleet. 10. Manages car washing supplies inventory. Purchases replacement inventory. 11. Assists the receiving, maintenance, and campus courier departments on an as needed basis. 12. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications 1. State of Texas Class B - CDL license, with passenger endorsement, with a driving record of less than ten (10) penalty points in a three year period. 2. High School diploma or GED. 3. Two years commercial driving experience. 4. Knowledge of federal, state, local rules and regulations as it pertains to bus transportation. Minimum Competencies 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment. 3. Capable of multi-tasking in a busy workplace environment. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Competencies Special Notes To Applicants This position will require some overnight and weekend travel. Hours worked may vary from week to week. This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits.
