Texas Rural Student Transportation School Bus Driver Job Description Job Summary:

The School Bus Driver will transport students by bus on regularly scheduled bus routes and misc. trips throughout the district.

Reports to:

Manager of District Transportation Supervisory Respons ibi l i t ies : None. Duties/Respons ibi l i t ies : Follows a planned bus route, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers. Answers questions about the bus route. Communicates with the dispatcher via two-way radio during the route; provides updates to the dispatcher and reports emergencies, traffic patterns, or accidents. Assists passengers on and off the bus when help is needed. Visually inspects the bus before beginning the day's assigned route. Reports any mechanical issues with the bus such as brakes, steering, or other issues. Prepares an observation report when shift is finished. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience:

Must be 21 years of age. Must have a valid class b commercial driver's license with passenger and school bus endorsements. Phys ica l

Requirements:

Must pass a drug screening and physical exam. Prolonged periods of operating the bus. Must be able to assist passengers when needed.

Job Types:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
