As a specialized contract school bus company, we pride ourselves on providing premier transportation services to local school districts, covering both regular routes and specialized transportation for students with disabilities. Key Responsibilities The primary focus of this role is the safe and efficient operation of a school bus while transporting students to and from school and sanctioned activities. You will be responsible for maintaining a professional and supportive environment on the bus, particularly when working with students with special needs to ensure their unique requirements are met with dignity and care. Drivers are expected to conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to uphold our rigorous safety standards and report any maintenance needs to our expert fleet management team. You will strictly adhere to all traffic laws and district policies while serving as a positive representative of both the school district and Texas Rural Student Transportation. Beyond driving, you will manage passenger behavior, maintain accurate mileage and attendance logs, and ensure the vehicle remains clean and welcoming for every student. Qualifications To be successful in this position, candidates must possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements for school bus operation. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate an impeccable driving record and a deep commitment to the safety and well-being of children. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administrators. Previous experience in student transportation is preferred, but we highly value candidates who show a patient, compassionate demeanor, especially when providing special needs transportation services. Applicants must be able to pass all required state background checks, drug screenings, and physical examinations necessary for student transport in the state of Texas.
