Job Description
Primary Purpose
Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route; operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Valid Texas commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement
DPS School Bus Driver Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
Must be 21 years of age
Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of student discipline procedure
Ability to manage student behavior
Ability to operate all makes and models of district fleet
Maintain a good driving record
Demonstrated ability to enter and exit rear emergency door of bus
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CCISD school bus driver or 4 years' experience as a school bus driver preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties

Operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient
Follow assigned route and adhere to established
Follow established procedures for reporting issues with routes as set in the Transportation Handbook.
Adhere to all student IEP
Supervise student
Report student discipline problems to supervisor.
Conduct student counts/run registers as required by TEA
Operate all emergency equipment and access emergency exits, including front, rear and side emergency doors, roof hatches, and emergency windows.
Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures to dispatch immediately and complete all required documentation.
Check vehicle for mechanical defects and submit any issues via electronic post trip (i.e. fleet software).
Maintain proper and appropriate radio communication etiquette.
Maintain punctuality and daily attendance for scheduled work shifts.
Adhere to all district and departmental policies, procedures and regulations as set forth in District and Departmental Handbooks.
