To Be Determined Job Description Primary Purpose Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route; operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD. Qualifications Education/Certification/Licensure Valid Texas commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement DPS School Bus Driver Certification Special Knowledge/Skills Must be 21 years of age Ability to complete required bus driver safety training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of student discipline procedure Ability to manage student behavior Ability to operate all makes and models of district fleet Maintain a good driving record Demonstrated ability to enter and exit rear emergency door of bus Experience Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CCISD school bus driver or 4 years' experience as a school bus driver preferred. Major Responsibilities and Duties Knowledge of the district and ability to drive in any area assigned by the Work a rotating flexible Operate any and all transportation bus makes and models. Operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient Follow assigned route and adhere to established Follow established procedures for reporting issues with routes as set in the Transportation Handbook. Adhere to all student IEP Supervise student Report student discipline problems to supervisor. Conduct student counts/run registers as required by TEA Operate all emergency equipment and access emergency exits, including front, rear and side emergency doors, roof hatches, and emergency windows. Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures to dispatch immediately and complete all required documentation. Check vehicle for mechanical defects and submit any issues via electronic post trip (i.e. fleet software). Maintain proper and appropriate radio communication etiquette. Maintain punctuality and daily attendance for scheduled work shifts. Adhere to all district and departmental policies, procedures and regulations as set forth in District and Departmental Handbooks. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as Working Conditions Mental Demands Maintaining emotional control under stress; working around high noise levels; frequent interruptions Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Moderate walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching; heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.; continual sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm motions; working outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes; flexible hours. Ability to access emergency exits and evacuate students in the event of an accident/emergency.
