Position Title:
Bus Operators for Summer School Program- All grade levels will be at James Monroe High School 5 Positions available See attached sheet for routes
Job Description:
Transport students to and from schools in accordance with requirements specified in attached Description of Summer Transportation. These routes are approximate and may be either extended, shortened, or changed, depending on student enrollment. Should, for some unforeseen reason, the program be shortened to less than five days per week or to fewer weeks, drivers will be paid for the days they drive. Summer buses run on an as needed basis. If during the course of the program, there are not a sufficient number of students on a specific run, that run will be discontinued. Some of these routes may be significantly lengthened at the discretion of the program director.Qualifications:
Must be a certified School Bus Operator for the State of WV. Must be an employee ofMonroe County Schools Salary:
Daily Rate of Pay $133.45 (Base Rate). Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.Effective Date:
June 29, 2026, through July 31, 2026. There will be no summer school on July 3rd in recognition of the 4th of July. Schedule based on program needs. If during the course of the program there is not a sufficient number of students, the program will be discontinued. Deadline forReceipt of Application:

•Please Note:
All Summer School Programs will take place at James Monroe High School. Bus # 1, From Mountain View to Pump Street; (Day Care stop) to Route 3; stopping at Barn Store; to Moncove Lake Road; to Running Bear; Running Bear to Route 3, stopping at Pine Grove Church, dropping students between Mountain View and Pine Grove Church as needed. Willow Bend to James Monroe as needed. Bus # 2, From Mountain View to Pickaway; Pickaway to Sinks Grove; Sinks Grove to Route 219 ending at Second Creek (county line), dropping students between Mountain View and Second Creek. Route 219 from Union to James Monroe as needed. Bus # 3, From Mountain View to Raines' Corner; Raines' Corner to Greenville; to Old Maid's Corner; ending at former Wayside Store; dropping students between Mountain View and former Wayside Store. Travel to James Monroe if needed. 219 back to Mountain View. Bus # 4, From JMHS to Peterstown School on Orchard/Pine Grove Rd.; Route to cover Route 12, Bozoo Road, or other roads as needed; Orchard/Pine Grove Rd back to James Monroe as needed. Bus # 5, Start near James Monroe, Cook's Run Road to Greenville, Route 219 to Peterstown making town run as needed, to Peterstown School, 219 back to James Monroe High School.ALL ROUTES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME AS NEEDED.
