Bus Driver Salary Scale https://www.fluco.org/o/fcs/page/salary-scales SUMMARY To transport students safely, efficiently and economically to and from school on a daily basis and to extracurricular events on a non-regular basis. Transport students to and from school following state and local regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conducts pre-trip inspection of school bus prior to every trip for defects. Uses established routes and designated bus stops. Operates bus on approved time schedule. Conducts emergency evaluation drills in keeping with division regulations. Instructs riders regarding being responsible passengers. Reports bus accidents and student injuries to authorities. Drives safely with students as the first priority. Performs bus housekeeping duties inside and out. Demonstrates knowledge of rules and regulations, promulgated by local, state and federal authorities. Demonstrates the ability to deal with exuberant behavioral characteristics of youthful riders. Administers disciplinary procedures in keeping with school board policies and administrative regulations. Complies with the appropriate dress code. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Valid Virginia Driver's License (Required); GED or High School Diploma (Required);- Hold or obtain a Virginia Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements (training provided);
- Ability to communicate with administration, staff, and the public in a professional manner;
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to transportation of students.
