Job Description

Our Christian faith-based early learning center is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and caring Bus Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for safely operating our 14-passenger bus for before and after-school transportation, scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs, and summer program field trips. The Bus Driver plays a vital role in ensuring children arrive safely while creating a positive, calm, and supportive environment during transportation. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, attentive, and passionate about serving children and families. This position requires excellent judgment, strong communication, and a deep commitment to child safety and supervision. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate the center's 14-passenger bus for daily transportation routes Provide before and after-school pick-up and drop-off transportation for enrolled children Transport children and staff for summer program outings and field trips Ensure all children are safely loaded, secured, supervised, and unloaded at each stop Maintain accurate attendance and transportation logs during all routes Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including seat belts, loading/unloading procedures, and emergency protocols Maintain active supervision of children during transport at all times Communicate effectively with families and center management regarding route updates, delays, or concerns Keep the bus clean, organized, and in safe operating condition Report maintenance concerns, incidents, accidents, or safety hazards immediately Follow all state transportation regulations, licensing requirements, and center policies Support smooth transitions between transportation and classroom staff Model professionalism, patience, and Christ-like care in all interactions Qualifications Valid driver's license with clean driving record ( required ) Ability to meet all state requirements for transporting children Previous experience driving children preferred Strong understanding of transportation safety and child supervision Ability to remain calm and attentive in all situations Must pass background check and meet state licensing requirements CPR/First Aid certified ( or willingness to obtain ) Ability to safely assist children entering and exiting the vehicle Who You Are Safety-focused and highly responsible Dependable, punctual, and organized Calm, patient, and professional under pressure Strong communicator and team player Attentive to detail and proactive in problem-solving Passionate about supporting children and families Committed to maintaining a safe, positive, faith-centered environment If you have a heart for serving children and families and are committed to providing safe, reliable transportation with compassion and care, we would love to welcome you to our team.
Pay:
$18.50 - $23.00 per hour
