School Bus Driver

Overview The School District of Lomira is seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. If the sound of children laughing, singing, and playing is music to your ears, we're interested in talking with you. We have an immediate opening for a School Bus Driver with a valid CDL license. The successful candidate will have experience driving a bus as well as working with children. We're anxious to talk with anyone who has transported grade school-aged kids to school in the past. The ideal candidate will ensure passengers' safe and efficient transportation, including children. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavior effectively while providing a positive experience for all riders. Responsibilities Safely operate a bus on designated routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain a clean and organized bus interior for the comfort of passengers. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and other team members regarding route changes or delays. Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment for all passengers, particularly children. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Strong communication skills to interact positively with passengers and staff. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is a plus. Familiarity with senior care practices is beneficial. abilities are highly regarded to assist diverse passenger groups. Knowledge of behavior management strategies to handle various passenger needs effectively. Previous driving or transit services is advantageous.
