Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Bus Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including students and community members, along designated routes while ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Your proactive approach to driving, excellent customer service skills, and adherence to transportation safety regulations will help create a positive and secure travel experience for all passengers. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by providing reliable, safe, and friendly transportation services. Duties Safely operate buses in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Transport passengers along scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including providing wheelchair assistance and support for individuals with mobility needs Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures and first aid protocols such as CPR Maintain discipline and manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe environment for everyone on board Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to verify safety features are operational and report any maintenance issues promptly Communicate effectively with passengers using clear language; utilize multilingual skills when necessary to assist diverse communities Respond quickly to traffic changes or detours by adjusting routes as needed while maintaining safety standards Support child care policies by ensuring the safety of young passengers and adhering to school policy guidelines Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, and vehicle inspections; document any behavioral or safety concerns Experience Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and state/local commercial driving laws essential Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to handle emergency response procedures confidently, including first aid (CPR) and emergency stop procedures Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Familiarity with transportation safety regulations such as passenger safety standards and behavior management techniques Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for vehicle inspections or assisting passengers with mobility devices Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements required; clean driving record essential Join us as a Bus Driver and become an integral part of our mission to provide safe, reliable transportation while fostering a welcoming environment for all passengers.
