Bus Operator (Part-time) $13.50 an hour Looking for a flexible side gig or a rewarding post-retirement opportunity? Join our team as a Bus Operator — no CDL required! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys being out in the community and helping others stay connected. You will provide safe, friendly transportation for older adults and community members, all while earning extra income on a flexible schedule.

Customer Connection & Service Excellence Creates a welcoming and positive experience for every passenger, ensuring each ride is safe, comfortable, and respectful. Builds trust with patrons by responding courteously to questions, assisting with accessibility needs, and maintaining a calm, friendly presence. Represents The Hub on Smith with professionalism and care, helping riders feel valued and supported throughout their journey. Dependability & Schedule Integrity Supports community reliability by adhering to published route schedules and maintaining consistent, on-time service. Ensures riders can depend on timely departures and arrivals, contributing to their confidence in our transportation services. Safe Vehicle Operation & Stewardship Operates 6-14 passenger buses with attentiveness and care in all weather conditions, prioritizing passenger safety at every moment. Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to stay in compliant with federal regulations Maintains and thoroughly cleans the interior and exterior of the buses. Maintains accurate mileage records, clean interior, and clean exterior. Commitment to Safety & Professional Standards Responds promptly and appropriately to any incidents, following organizational safety procedures to protect passengers and team members. Maintains all required certifications and participates in ongoing safety and compliance training, including First Aid, Defensive Driving, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Models a culture of safety, reliability, and care that enhances trust in The Hub's transportation services. Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the organization's goals and operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Coachable with a willingness to learn and adapt to a changing workflow. Knowledge of safe driving practices and local traffic laws. Understanding of customer service principles, especially when working with older adults and individuals with diverse needs. Effective communication and people skills to interact respectfully and positively with passengers, staff, and community members. Ability to maintain schedules while remaining flexible to meet rider and program needs. Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in unexpected or emergency situations. Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills for completing trip logs, mileage records, and maintenance reports. Dependability and punctuality with a commitment to safety and service excellence. Physical ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs. Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle and perform vehicle safety checks.QULIFICATIONS 21
years of age Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Experience working with the public, older adults, or people with disabilities is preferred. Employment is contingent upon passing a Drug Analysis, Central Registry and Division of Criminal Investigations background check.Note:
