Donor Technician III

Full-time role based in Duarte, working four 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours), with every other weekend required. Responsibilities include allogeneic donor phlebotomy, automated apheresis procedures, and collection of samples for HLA tissue typing, serology retesting, blood product manufacturing, and quality control. The role also supports research projects and includes driving blood donor vehicles (bloodmobile and box truck). Work is performed across donor center, blood bank, and mobile blood drive environments. The position actively participates in quality assurance activities to ensure blood safety and service excellence. Requires consistently professional, courteous, timely, and accurate service, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to donors, internal partners, and the public. As a successful candidate, you will: Perform whole blood, apheresis, and donor screening procedures in compliance with established SOPs and regulatory requirements. Ensure donor safety by recognizing and managing reactions, maintaining competencies, and keeping all required certifications current. Maintain accurate documentation, quality control, equipment maintenance, and participate in quality assurance and SOP reviews/validations. Support mobile and off‑site blood drives, including setup, breakdown, inspections, inventory management, and transport of equipment and blood products. Operate bloodmobiles and large vehicles safely, handling logistics, packing, loading, and temperature‑sensitive transport of blood products. Manufacture blood products and perform required quality control in compliance with FDA cGMP and applicable SOPs.

Your qualifications should include:

High School or equivalent 3 years previous donor/patient care and blood center experience as a donor phlebotomist.
