Scheduled and recurring courier routes On-demand / STAT medical deliveries Pharmacy and prescription deliveries Medical supply transportation Healthcare facility-to-facility deliveries Patient residence deliveries Backup and overflow coverage This opportunity is ideal for professional drivers who value flexibility, reliability, and independent work while supporting healthcare operations. This posting is for a pre-qualified contractor pool. Placement in the BBS contractor network does not guarantee a minimum number of routes, deliveries, hours, or earnings. Responsibilities Independent contractors may be offered assignments involving: Picking up and delivering prescription medications, medical supplies, laboratory materials, and other healthcare-related items Completing scheduled routes and/or accepting individual on-demand delivery opportunities Maintaining secure chain-of-custody procedures from pickup through delivery Verifying pickup and delivery information before accepting custody of materials Obtaining required signatures, delivery confirmations, and documentation Following temperature-control requirements when applicable Using a smartphone for navigation, dispatch communication, delivery updates, and electronic documentation Communicating promptly with BBS Operations regarding delays, delivery issues, or other exceptions Maintaining professional and courteous interactions with healthcare facilities, pharmacies, patients, and other customers Safely transporting assigned materials in a clean and reliable personal vehicle Following applicable traffic laws, safety requirements, customer procedures, and assignment-specific instructions Contractor Requirements Applicants should have: Valid driver's license Reliable personal vehicle Current automobile insurance Clean and professional vehicle interior suitable for healthcare-related deliveries Smartphone with reliable cellular service and GPS/navigation capability Safe driving record Ability to pass applicable background screening Strong communication and customer-service skills Dependability and punctuality Ability to work independently and follow delivery documentation requirements Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling healthcare-related information Preferred Qualifications The following experience or training is helpful but not required for every opportunity: Medical courier experience Pharmacy or prescription delivery experience Laboratory/specimen transportation Route delivery or courier experience Healthcare transportation HIPAA training Bloodborne Pathogens training DOT Hazmat Awareness UN3373 / Biological Substance Category B training Chain-of-custody experience Contractor Opportunity Options Applicants may indicate interest in: Scheduled Routes On-Demand / STAT Deliveries Both Scheduled and On-Demand Work Backup / Overflow Coverage Contractors are considered for assignments based on geographic location, availability, qualifications, vehicle capability, customer requirements, and the needs of individual BBS contracts.
