Job Description

•This position will conduct supervised and observed urine collection drug screens of male participants. The observer must be of the same sex. This position will be filled by a male applicant. •
Compensation:
$20.60 per hour
Hours:
Up to 19.5 hours per week

9/2/2026 3:30 p.m. MST Job Summary The Drug Testing Technician conducts supervised and observed urine drug screens.
Key Responsibilities Screening:
Prepares and maintains the drug screen lab Performs breath alcohol-sensor tests Uses panel cup substance screening devices for urine samples and interprets results Monitors and detects any potential device or substance used to interfere with the drug test during the collection of the sample Sorts, verifies, prepares and packages the collections for daily pick up Disposes of used testing equipment/materials safely
Recordkeeping:
Maintains detailed records Completes necessary documents and court affidavits Reports compliance or noncompliance of Drug Court participants to the Drug Court Coordinator Files and shreds documents
Other Duties:
Helps maintain and inventories drug screen supplies Testifies in court regarding client violations and/or observed drug screens, if necessary Attends training Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with county and court policies, procedures, and safety practices Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Skills and Abilities:
Apply evidence collection and preservation techniques Personal computers and word processing Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation Providing proper telephone and office etiquette Maintain strict confidentiality of all department records and information Set boundaries with clients Skilled in communicating with culturally diverse and manipulative populations Special Qualifications Successfully complete a background investigation Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Essential Physical Abilities Clear speech with or without an accommodation, to effectively convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly and/or quickly Sufficient clarity of hearing with or without reasonable accommodation to enable the employee to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information Visual acuity, with or without an accommodation, to read instructions, review and organize documents Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks Ability to lift 25 lbs.
