Medical Courier Drivers / Owner Operators- Multiple Routes
- Albany, NY We are qualifying independent contractors with their own vehicles for prospective recurring medical courier routes in the Albany, New York area.
Estimated start:
October 1, 2026, subject to contract award. Route activation and assignments are not guaranteed before award. We seek one primary driver and one backup for each of three routes. Backup assignments depend on coverage needs.ROUTES AND PAY
North Route:
Albany / Clifton Park / Westport / Saranac Lake. Approximately 300-320 miles per completed daily route.Pay:
$260- 280 per completed daily route; maximum $280.
South Route:
Albany / Catskill / Oneonta. Approximately 180-190 miles per completed daily route.Pay:
$150- 165 per completed daily route; maximum $165.
Local/West Route:
Albany / Fonda / Albany local stops. Approximately 85-95 miles per completed daily route, estimated 2-2.5 hours per day.Pay:
$80- 90 per completed daily route; maximum $90. The overall $80
- 280 daily range reflects different routes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Live reasonably near Albany, NY, or be able to start there daily. Own a reliable vehicle and hold a valid New York State driver license. Have current vehicle registration and auto insurance appropriate for delivery/commercial use. Have a reliable smartphone and GPS, recurring Monday-Friday availability, excellent punctuality and clear communication. Be able to securely transport medical specimens, medications, supplies and documents and follow chain-of-custody procedures. Be comfortable with temperature-sensitive shipments and properly packaged medical specimens. Be willing to complete required background screening and onboarding if selected. Prior medical courier, laboratory, pharmacy, hospital or healthcare delivery experience is preferred.DOCUMENTATION PRIORITY
Highest priority goes to applicants who already hold the required training and can provide legible, current copies. Willingness to obtain training later does not establish current qualification. A "yes" answer alone does not verify a certificate. Please identify each document as currently held or missing and send legible copies of all documents you currently possess together through your Indeed application or Indeed messages: 1. Valid New York State driver license. 2. HIPAA training certificate. 3. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens / BBP training certificate. 4. DOT Hazardous Materials employee training documentation under 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H. 5. Frozen Transportation / Frozen Specimen Transportation training certificate. 6. Dry Ice Handling / Dry Ice Transportation training certificate. 7. Current auto insurance for the vehicle to be used, appropriate for delivery/commercial use. 8. Vehicle registration. Also state the vehicle year, make and model. A CDL Hazmat Endorsement and DOT Hazmat Employee Training are different documents.
