Responsibilities Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of all freight types. Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to maximize efficiency while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure all safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and manifests; communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status or delays. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups. Qualifications Proficiency in manual transmission operation; experience with freight handling equipment like forklifts is a plus. Knowledge of route planning, load securement techniques, and safety protocols specific to freight transportation. Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while maintaining safety standards; experience with dump trucks or roll-off trucks is advantageous. Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules and documentation accurately. Physical stamina to lift heavy items when necessary and perform long hours of driving.
