The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing baggage operations, ensuring safety and security standards are met, and providing excellent customer service. Multilingual skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience in logistics or warehouse operations are highly valued to support seamless baggage handling and contribute to the overall efficiency of airport operations. Duties Load and unload baggage from aircraft, vehicles, and storage areas with precision and care Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and carts safely and effectively Ensure baggage is transported to designated areas in a timely manner, adhering to airport schedules Conduct inspections of baggage for security purposes in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations Assist with managing the flow of luggage through the logistics chain, including sorting and routing Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage handling areas to promote safety and efficiency Supervise or assist other team members as needed, providing leadership and guidance in daily operations Communicate effectively with team members, management, and airline personnel to coordinate tasks Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, aviation security, and warehouse procedures Keep accurate records of baggage movement and report any discrepancies or issues promptly Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, materials handling, or logistics preferred Supervising or management experience is a plus; leadership skills are essential for team coordination Mechanical knowledge and experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment required Multilingual abilities such as Haitian Creole or other languages beneficial for diverse customer interactions Strong communication skills in English; ability to effectively relay information within a team environment Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations related to baggage handling and aviation security standards Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and time management capabilities Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently; physical stamina required for long shifts Basic math skills for sorting, counting, and record keeping purposes Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards airline passengers and staff Valid commercial driving license preferred for transportation tasks within the airport premises This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are paramount.
