JOB SUMMARY
As a Fuel Attendant at Bear's Den, you will be the first point of contact for customers fueling up and shopping at our store. Your role will involve assisting customers with their fuel needs, maintaining cleanliness in the fuel area and store, and ensuring smooth operation at the pump and register. You will be expected to perform multiple tasks, ensuring excellent customer experience, all while following safety protocols and maintaining efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service Greet and assist customers with fueling needs in a friendly and professional manner. Answer customer inquiries regarding fuel, store products, and services. Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all customers. Fuel Area Maintenance Ensure that fuel pumps are operating efficiently and are stocked with fuel. Keep the fuel area clean and free of debris to maintain a safe environment. Monitor fuel levels and alert management of any issues or discrepancies. Store Assistance Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store and fuel station area. Ensure shelves are stocked and organized in the retail area. Operate the cash register, handling transactions efficiently and accurately.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with diverse customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions and counting change. Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting and Standing:
The role involves both sitting (for short periods when assisting customers) and standing (during fueling operations and store maintenance).
Lifting and Carrying:
Ability to lift and carry small packages, fuel nozzles, and other items as needed.
Manual Dexterity:
Operating fuel pumps, cash registers, and handling merchandise requires good manual dexterity.
Visual and Auditory Skills:
Ability to read gauges, signage, and respond to customer inquiries.
Mobility:
Moving around the fuel area and store to assist customers and maintain cleanliness.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a retail or fuel station setting. Basic understanding of fuel operations and safety protocols.
