Job Description

Job Overview 1ST Touch Medical Transport, LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers to provide reliable transportation for individuals traveling to and from medical appointments, therapy, dialysis, rehabilitation, and other approved healthcare and community-based destinations. Our drivers are an important part of the client experience. We are looking for professionals who understand that NEMT is more than simply driving from one location to another. Our clients may include seniors, individuals with disabilities, wheelchair users, and others who need patience, dignity, assistance, and dependable service. This is a contract position with scheduling based on available transportation assignments and operational needs. Responsibilities Safely transport clients to and from approved medical and healthcare-related destinations. Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to every passenger. Assist passengers with safe entry and exit from vehicles and provide appropriate mobility assistance within the driver's training and authorization. Properly assist wheelchair passengers and secure mobility devices when assigned to wheelchair-accessible transportation. Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety procedures, company requirements, and transportation regulations. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned vehicles. Use GPS and approved dispatch/navigation tools to complete scheduled trips safely and efficiently. Communicate promptly regarding delays, cancellations, passenger concerns, incidents, or other transportation issues. Maintain accurate trip, mileage, inspection, and other required operational records. Protect passenger privacy and confidential information. Follow established procedures for accidents, incidents, emergencies, and vehicle concerns. Qualifications Valid driver's license. Acceptable driving record and ability to satisfy applicable insurance requirements. Ability to successfully complete required background and credentialing requirements. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Comfortable working with seniors and individuals with disabilities or mobility limitations. Ability to safely perform the physical functions associated with passenger assistance. Ability to use a smartphone, GPS, and transportation/dispatch applications. NEMT, paratransit, wheelchair transportation, shuttle, healthcare transportation, or professional passenger-driving experience is preferred but not required . Preferred Credentials Candidates with any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply: Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training Wheelchair securement training Defensive driving certification CPR/First Aid certification Previous NEMT or paratransit experience What We Value At 1ST Touch Medical Transport , safety, dignity, reliability, professionalism, and compassionate service come first.
