Job Description
Reporting to the Health Center Office Manager, the Chen Transportation Worker transports and accompanies students to Emergency Room visits and outside medical appointments on weekdays during normal business hours. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Transport students to and from the Emergency Room and/or off-campus medical appointments, utilizing an Academy vehicle, in a safe and efficient manner Remain with student for emergency treatment Communicate with Health Center and parents/guardians regarding student's condition in a timely and effective manner Maintain confidentiality regarding all student conditions and records Transport medical records, medications, x-rays and lab equipment to/from the hospital, pharmacy and Health Center Perform errands in surrounding towns, as necessary Other duties as assigned Job Specifications Completion of 12th grade or equivalent 1 - 3 years' experience driving a vehicle Valid Massachusetts driver's license Ability to respond to all calls and pages within ten minutes Ability to transport student from Health Center within thirty minutes of the initial call Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and care providers Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community; Ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information Ability to drive in a variety of weather conditions Physical Demands Ability to rarely lift and carry up to 20 lbs. Close visual acuity Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Ability to frequently bend or lift Ability to occasionally stoop, reach, kneel Ability to rarely push/pull up to 200 lbs. Working Conditions The worker is subject to outside environmental and weather conditions.
