Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Companion Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for patients to and from medical appointments. This role is vital in ensuring patients receive timely care while offering excellent customer service. The Medical Companion Driver will operate the company vehicle, to facilitate smooth and comfortable journeys for our clients to and from their location. If you enjoy driving, helping others, and maintaining a professional yet friendly demeanor, this opportunity is perfect for you! Responsibilities Safely operate the company vehicles to transport patients to medical appointments, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols Assist patients with boarding and alighting from vehicles, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles to ensure safety and comfort for all passengers Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare staff, and dispatch teams to coordinate schedules and address any concerns during transit Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking fuel levels, tires, lights, and other essential systems Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients with mobility aids or luggage in a respectful manner Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure passenger safety at all times Qualifications Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., driver license or equivalent) with a clean driving record Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse populations Experience with paratransit services or transporting individuals with mobility challenges is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and safety checks before trips Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and healthcare providers Join us as a Medical Companion Driver and make a meaningful difference in people's lives by providing dependable transportation that promotes health and well-being.
