Job description: The NMET Transportation Driver provides safe, timely, and courteous transportation services for clients to and from medical appointments, and other authorized destinations. The driver ensures compliance with all state, Medicaid, private insurance, and company policies while delivering high-quality customer service to diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport clients safely to scheduled appointments and return them home promptly. Operate agency vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company protocols. Assist passengers with mobility needs, including entering and exiting the vehicle and securing wheelchairs or assistive devices when applicable. Verify client identity, trip schedules, and documentation prior to transport. Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and incident reports as required by Medicaid, insurance, and company standards. Perform daily vehicle inspections (pre- and post-trip), reporting any maintenance or safety issues immediately. Ensure vehicles remain clean, sanitized, and fueled. Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or incidents in accordance with company policy. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and respect when serving clients of diverse backgrounds. Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect client confidentiality. Communicate with dispatch, coordinators, and caregivers regarding scheduling changes or delays.

Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Insurable Current CPR/First Aid certification. Completion of defensive driving, passenger safety, and wheelchair securement training. Ability to pass required background checks, and other requirements Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or in customer service preferred. Must be reliable, punctual, and professional. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist clients with mobility devices. Frequent bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Ability to operate vehicle controls and maintain alertness for extended driving shifts. Bilingual Requirement Bilingual (English/Spanish)
