This vital role involves operating various passenger vehicles, including ambulances and wheelchair vans, to ensure timely and comfortable journeys. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to adhere strictly to traffic and safety regulations. As a Medical Transporter, you will play a crucial part in supporting healthcare operations by delivering compassionate, professional transportation services with a focus on safety and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Safely operate a range of vehicles such as ambulances and wheelchair vans on local routes. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring comfort and safety at all times. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to adhere to scheduled routes and delivery times. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation. Communicate clearly with clients regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or issues during transit. Follow all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies to uphold safety standards. Handle heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading equipment or mobility aids while practicing proper manual handling techniques. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans or larger vehicles is preferred. Knowledge of GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient travel. Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and manage heavy lifting when required. Familiarity with adhering to traffic regulations, state transportation laws, and vehicle maintenance protocols.
