As an NEMT Driver, you will provide safe, reliable, and respectful transportation for individuals traveling to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, rehabilitation, hospital discharges, and other healthcare-related destinations. At CareVia Healthcare, we believe transportation is an extension of patient care. We are looking for drivers who are committed to safety, punctuality, and delivering exceptional customer service while treating every passenger with dignity and compassion. Company vehicle provided. Paid training available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Safely transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher passengers to and from scheduled appointments. Assist passengers with safely entering and exiting the vehicle while providing excellent customer service. Secure wheelchairs and mobility equipment using proper safety procedures. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance concerns. Follow assigned routes while using GPS and dispatch software to ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs. Maintain accurate trip documentation and communicate with dispatch regarding schedule changes or delays. Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and ready for daily operation. Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, HIPAA confidentiality standards, and company policies. Represent CareVia Healthcare professionally at all times. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility needs. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), paratransit, shuttle, healthcare, or senior transportation. CPR, CNA, other healthcare experience is a plus. Experience assisting wheelchair passengers is preferred but not required. No previous NEMT experience? No problem. We provide paid training for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and committed to providing outstanding service.
