OPERATOR, WG-5703-08, you will transport supplies and equipment intra and inter Ste using a variety of wheeled vehicles to haul cargo and fuel, transport passengers or to tow or recover equipment. Vehicles are driven in restricted traffic environments on Government installions, and over public roads and highways, or under cross-country conditions. For positions requiring the operion of motor vehicles, candides must have a valid ste driver's license for the ste in which they live or are principally employed. : Must have 12 months experience or training which demonstres the ability to opere and perform operor maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approxime gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds. Experience demonstring ability to opere truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches. Experience opering vehicles over a variety of roads including interste highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades. Experience driving vehicles without mishap in compliced traffic situions. Couples and uncouples the truck tractor and semi-trailer, or truck and trailer, and connects and disconnects the air brakes and electrical lines. Maneuvers vehicles within close tolerances when driving and backing over uneven ground, in narrow or congested areas, between buildings and other vehicles, between parked aircraft and when positioning vehicles loading docks.
