Starting at $25 per hour, based on experience Company Description Brentwood Professional Organizers is a Miami-based home organizing and relocation company specializing in white-glove packing, unpacking, downsizing, and move-in services. We help clients transition into beautifully organized, functional, and lived-in-ready homes. We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as on-call Packers and Unpackers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in creating orderly spaces, and can provide discreet, professional service inside clients' homes.
Role Description:
The On-Call Packer and Unpacker will assist with residential packing, unpacking, organizing, and move-in projects throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Team members will work under the direction of the Lead Organizer and must follow established packing, labeling, handling, and organizing procedures. Work is assigned according to project demand. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week. Projects are typically scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. , depending on client needs and building or vendor regulations. Responsibilities Carefully wrap and pack household belongings, including clothing, linens, kitchenware, books, decorative items, and other personal possessions Properly pack fragile items using appropriate protective materials and handling techniques Assemble, label, seal, and organize moving boxes by room, category, and destination Unpack boxes and place items in their designated rooms Sort, categorize, fold, hang, arrange, and put away household belongings Arrange cabinets, drawers, shelves, and storage spaces in a functional and visually appealing manner Assist with labeling containers, shelves, drawers, and designated storage areas Follow instructions from the Lead Organizer and promptly communicate questions, concerns, damages, or safety issues Maintain complete confidentiality regarding clients, their homes, and their belongings Follow all company safety standards and client or building requirements Qualifications Previous experience in packing, unpacking, moving, professional organizing, housekeeping, retail, visual merchandising, inventory, hospitality, or a related field is preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions Ability to work efficiently without compromising the care of clients' belongings Dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to complete both detailed and physically active tasks Good communication and organizational skills Comfortable working inside private residences and maintaining professional boundaries Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project needs Reliable transportation to project locations throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance preferred Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move household items as part of on-site projects. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify practical organizing solutions and anticipate potential move-related issues. Comfort working in dynamic, sometimes fast-paced environments, with the flexibility to adjust to changing client needs and schedules. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be willing to complete a background check Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb a small step ladder throughout the workday Work on their feet for shifts of up to eight hours, with scheduled breaks Lift and carry boxes or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds independently Perform repetitive tasks such as wrapping, packing, folding, labeling, and unpacking Work safely in homes that may contain stairs, pets, dust, or active moving crews Scheduling and Availability This is an on-call, project-based position. Team members may receive assignments several days or weeks in advance, although occasional short-notice opportunities may arise. Candidates should be responsive when contacted regarding availability. Most projects take place Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend assignments. A typical project day may run from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Acceptance of every assignment is not required; however, once a team member confirms an assignment, reliable and timely attendance is expected.
