Job Description

Job Title:
Furniture Mover and Assembler This role involves safely moving, assembling, and installing furniture and related products in a hospital setting. You will follow manufacturer specifications and quality standards while using hand and power tools to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Success in this position requires strong manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a clear focus on customer satisfaction and communication. Responsibilities Move, load, unload, and position furniture and related products throughout a hospital facility in a safe and efficient manner. Assemble furniture according to manufacturer schematics, directions, and specifications, ensuring all components are installed correctly. Use hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and other equipment to assemble, repair, and install furniture. Measure and align components accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure proper fit and finish. Perform basic furniture repairs and adjustments as needed to meet quality and safety standards. Follow all company quality guidelines and hospital facility rules while working in a fast-paced environment. Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and hospital staff to coordinate deliveries, installations, and moves. Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with hospital staff and other stakeholders. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and materials. Adhere to all safety procedures when lifting, moving, and assembling furniture, including proper handling of items up to 50-60 lbs. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in moving and assembling furniture. Proficiency in furniture assembly, including reading and following schematics and written directions. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50-60 lbs on a regular basis. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and write in English. Strong focus on customer satisfaction and professional customer service. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic assembly or installation issues. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with furniture repair and installation in commercial or institutional environments. Experience using pallet jacks for moving and positioning heavy items. Comfort with loading, unloading, and delivering furniture. Detail-oriented approach to measuring, aligning, and finishing assembled items. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve on-site assembly or fit issues. Why Work Here? You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and pallet jacks to complete assembly, installation, and moving tasks. Expect a structured daytime schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no weekend shifts. Attire should be practical, neat, and appropriate for a professional healthcare facility and for hands-on work involving tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
