JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to assume responsibility for providing instruction, evaluion and examinion of red pilots, instructor pilots and aero scout observers in flying techniques and methods of instruction, examinion and evaluion. Instruction involves basic and advanced techniques for flying aircraft using instruments.NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
This is an excepted position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the Connecticut Army Nional Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Connecticut Army Nional Guard must be eligible for immedie membership and employment in the Connecticut Army Nional Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Plans and implements flight training and instruction for red pilots and instructor pilots in accordance with the Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). Conducts refresher, mission and continuion training in light fixed wing or utility and observer helicopters. Trains, instructs and evalues pilots in opering aircraft using advanced instrument flight techniques. Trains pilots in basic and advanced techniques required to support the Pilot's unit mission. Instructs pilots in methods of instruction and evalues instructor pilots proficiency to engage in flight instruction; instructs pilots in opering advanced tack helicopters or heavy multi-engine advanced transport helicopters. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Nional Guard Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. Must meet Compible Military Assignment within one year from placement. Wear of the military uniform is mandory. Direct Deposit is mandory. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Must possess a valid ste drivers license. Incumbent is required to serve a 2-year trial/probionary period. QualificionsMANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Experience based on the candide's possession of Federal Aviion Administrion pilot certifices- OR•approprie military certificions, military rings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment, and the required competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
An applicant must have a competent understanding of the occupion's basic principles and concepts. Applicants should have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediely below the next higher level. Candide must possess a minimum of 500 flight hours.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Your resume and any other supporting documention you wish to provide must clearly substantie you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience in civilian aviion programs; or, in military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities. Experience opering a CH-47F aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparion. Experience in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Experience in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Experience demonstring knowledge in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experience in the unit flying, explosive and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to instruct and evalue students or red pilots in instrument flight techniques. Ability to write lesson plans, develop training texts, and evaluion merial. Ability to evalue flight instructors and airplane pilots in their proficiency to engage in flight instruction, tactical qualificions, and/or upgrade. Ability to fly aircraft during day and night, over all kinds of terrain and in any weher. Ability to develop new tactics and polices for the training program. Ability to design routes and procedures for training exercises. Ability to plans exercises or mission operions. Ability to determine requirements for safety programs. Ability to conduct safety inspections and studies. Ability to review reports of alleged flying violions and initie corrective actions. Ability to advise commanders and staff officers on safety problems and stus of safety program.COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT

Training the Nional Guard Professional Educion Center (NGPEC) is a mandory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or terminion of full-time employment unless extenuing circumstances preclude course tendance.CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
