Duties Help Incumbent serves as a Unit Trainer/Evaluor (UT/E), instructor pilot, or pilot in command on one or more of the following helicopters: Utility Helicopter (UH-60 series), (LUH-72 series) and others when assigned Also performs one or more duties in a specific functional area of aircraft operions. Applicant will serve the Army Aviion Support Facility #2 Safety Officer establishing and maintaining a safety program. Applicant must be Aviion Safety Officer qualified or able to tend and pass the be Aviion Safety Officer Course (ASOC) Ft. Rucker, AL, within 18 months of hire (ATRRS School Calog (SC): 012, Course # 7K-F12 (NS) ." 1. Performs preflight weher analysis, route and altitude selections, alterne airport selection, fuel, cargo and passenger load computions, selection of refueling stops, preflight inspections, flight plan filing, and firing ranges route planning/coordinion. Incorpores precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigion and instrument approaches in all mission planning and must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their operions. Maintains and studies current and complete files of aeronautical publicions, navigion charts, instrument approach procedures, and air traffic control procedures. (10%) 2. Serves as rotary wing Unit Trainer/Evaluor (UT/E) or Instructor Pilot (IP): Trains and evalues aviors on basic and advanced flight techniques. This includes the procedures to use in emergencies and malfunctions over rough terrain, e.g., hills and forests both day and night. Training includes instruction and evaluion for opering unique electronics equipment, such as precision, non-precision, and GPS route navigion and approaches. Conducts initial standardizion flight evaluions for new air crew members and annual evaluions for assigned and tached pilots, including local aircraft transitions including refresher training. Serves as pilot-in-command while opering single and/or multi-engine rotary wing aircraft to perform airlift support for DOD personnel, emergency medical evacuions, aerial fire suppression support, paradrops, rescue, and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) operions. May be required to transport classified, chemical, or other hazardous cargo. May be required to perform extended flights to and from a wide variety of points, with responsibility for safely transporting passengers and/or classified, chemical, or other hazardous cargo. Pilot will possess competency on all aviion mters th will encompass safety as the number one priority, demonstre a consistent mure judgment and maintain a high degree of pilot proficiency for conducting flight missions under visual flight rules (VFR) and instrument flight rules (IFR). Flights may be performed with a combinion of day, night, and night vision goggle (NVG) operions under both favorable and unfavorable environmental conditions (fog, sleet, ice, rain, snow, high winds, low ceilings) over both favorable and unfavorable terrain (mountains, wer, desert, swamp, forest) which may require a transfer from IFR condition to marginal VFR condition for landing remote locions. Locions may include a combinion of confined areas with unfavorable terrain and obstacles and high altitude requiring an in-depth performance planning for take-off and landings under heavy load conditions. Flights could be conducted with a combinion of unfavorable weher conditions, over unfavorable terrain or wer both low altitude and slow airspeed, maximum gross weight, which are outside the recommended flight envelops for safe flight and/or involve the use of techniques employed as to avoid detection, and often entail prolonged periods of flying. Such flights, maintenance test flights, and low-level flights are such th a safe emergency landing would be difficult and would require a very high degree of pilot skill. Pilot will adhere to existing Army flight regulions and Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) regulions. (25%) 3. Performs one or more of the following major functional duties: (65%) a. Serves as rotary wing Instrument Flight Examiner (IE): Conducts instrument flight qualificions and training which includes, instrument flight planning, precision handling and maneuvering of the aircraft, navigion using the aircraft navigion instruments and systems, air traffic control operions, approach, departure, and holding procedures, and use of the ILS. Conducts initial instrument standardizion rides for new air crew members and as a minimum conducts annual check rides for assigned and tached pilots. Performs other duties as assigned. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Must have Federal Aviion Administrion pilot certifices -OR- approprie military certificions, military rings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment, and the required competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities). Must be able to tend Aviion Safety Officer Course Ft. Rucker, AL, within 18 months of hire. Must have a minimum of 50 hour of Pilot-in-Command time.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Must have a competent understanding of the occupion's basic principles and concepts. And, I have a minimum of one-year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediely below the next higher level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Must have working experiences in civilian aviion programs; or, in military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities; or, in Air Nional Guard Wing/ Operions Groups. Must have least two years specialized competencies in opering a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparion. Experienced in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experienced in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
: Credit given for approprie unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE
