Head Flight Instructor Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced aviation professional to lead and manage a growing flight training program serving approximately 140 students. As the Head Flight Instructor, you will play a key role in guiding instructional staff, maintaining training quality, and ensuring compliance with aviation standards. This role partners closely with the Assistant Chief Instructor and serves as a primary liaison with university leadership and regulatory agencies. Key Duties:
Oversee daily flight training operations to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction Review and approve student training documentation, including graduation and testing records Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of flight instructors to ensure proficiency and standardization Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to instructional staff Monitor student advancement and coordinate scheduling and dispatch to support training progression Lead regular team meetings and communicate operational updates Maintain professional communication with FAA representatives and airport authorities Required Experience & Skills:
Previous leadership experience as a Chief or Assistant Chief Flight Instructor In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 141 and Part 61 regulations Demonstrated success managing a structured flight training program Experience collaborating with external partners such as universities, regulatory bodies, or aviation organizations Preferred Qualifications:

Based in Bozeman, Montana, this role operates out of a combined flight school and Fixed Base Operation (FBO). The schedule follows standard weekday business hours, Monday through Friday, in a collaborative and aviation-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Belgrade, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
