Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Aircraft Flight Instructor to join our team, committed to training the next generation of pilots with precision, enthusiasm, and expert knowledge. As an Aircraft Flight Instructor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive flight instruction across various aircraft types, including single-engine and multi-engine airplanes, helicopters, and flight simulators. Your passion for aviation and teaching will help shape skilled pilots who meet rigorous Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) standards. Duties Instructing and evaluating student and AMO pilots in basic and advanced flight, instrument maneuvers, emergency procedures, human factors, cockpit resource management, and tactical day/night operations using forward looking infrared and night vision equipment. Providing initial aircraft training and annual recurrent training for AMO pilots in fixed-wing and/or rotor-wing aircraft. Conducting initial entry and annual standardization evaluations of AMO pilots, including testing and certifying aircraft airworthiness by assessing mechanical deficiencies and system functionality. Developing, planning, scheduling, implementing, and maintaining education and training programs for use within the department and external entities. Evaluating program safety and flight procedures, recommending corrective actions or additional training as needed. Skills You may qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Performing professional educational work as a Flight Instructor Conducting ground and flight training and pilot and aircrew evaluations Maintaining and developing current and new course materials, new hire assessments, and student and pilot records management policies Performing flight training and aircrew evaluations

$122,749.00 - $159,575.00 per year
