Job Description The Center for Aviation Technology and Training (CATT), a program of Hosanna House, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pennsylvania-certified High School Teacher to join our growing Aviation STEM Education team. This is a unique opportunity for an educator who wants to move beyond the traditional classroom and help students discover exciting careers in aviation, aerospace, engineering, and emerging technologies. Using nationally recognized curriculum from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), you will guide students through hands-on, project-based learning experiences that prepare them for college, careers, and FAA industry certifications. At CATT, we believe education creates pathways to economic mobility, leadership, and lifelong success. What You'll Do Teach engaging Aviation and STEM courses to high school students (Grades 9-12).
Deliver AOPA aviation curriculum covering:
o Principles of Flight o Basic Aerodynamics o Aircraft Systems o Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones) o Aviation Safety and Operations Inspire students to pursue careers in aviation, aerospace, and technology. Monitor student progress and maintain academic records. Collaborate with local school districts, CATT staff, and community partners. Support special events, aviation exhibits, field experiences, and workforce development activities. Serve as a positive mentor and role model for youth
Required:
Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification. Experience teaching or working with high school students. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Passion for STEM education and student success. Ability to inspire and mentor diverse learners. Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Experience with STEM, Career & Technical Education (CTE), engineering, robotics, technology education, or science instruction. Experience working with youth programs or project-based learning. Familiarity with aviation, aerospace, drones, or engineering concepts. No aviation certification? No problem. Candidates with a Pennsylvania teaching certificate and a passion for STEM are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, with support and professional development opportunities available through CATT.
