Company Description Capitol Helicopters Inc. is a leading organization in the helicopter industry, committed to providing safe and secure working environments for its employees, and clients. About The Role The SIC (Second-in-Command) Pilot plays a critical role in supporting the PIC in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This position involves assisting with pre-flight planning, monitoring aircraft systems, and managing communications with air traffic control to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The SIC Pilot is responsible for executing flight operations in accordance with company policies and aviation standards, contributing to overall flight safety. This role requires constant vigilance, quick decision-making, and effective teamwork to respond to dynamic flight conditions and emergencies. Ultimately, the SIC Pilot helps ensure that every flight is conducted smoothly, safely, and on schedule, supporting the airline's commitment to excellence in service and safety. Minimum Qualifications Valid FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certificate. Current FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate. Minimum of 500 hours rotorcraft/helicopter flight time. Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and standard operating procedures. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-crew flight team. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating in diverse weather conditions and complex airspace environments. Previous experience as PIC or SIC Pilot in UH-60 aircraft. Proficiency with advanced avionics systems. Additional language skills beneficial for international operations. Responsibilities Assist the PIC with all phases of flight operations including pre-flight planning, takeoff, cruise, and landing. Monitor aircraft instruments and systems to detect and respond to any abnormalities or malfunctions. Communicate effectively with air traffic control and ground personnel to ensure safe navigation and compliance with regulations. Perform checklists and standard operating procedures to maintain operational safety and efficiency. Participate in crew briefings and debriefings to review flight details, weather conditions, and any operational concerns. Support emergency procedures and decision-making processes as directed by the Captain. Maintain accurate flight logs and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
