AIRCRAFT
PILOT, GS-2181-12, you will perform the following duties: (1) Directs, evalues, and issues technical guidance to aviion units on mters pertaining to aviion training, readiness reporting, the Aircrew Training Manual and Nional Guard Bureau (NGB) training management and planning. Oversees both collective and individual programs. Provides staff level supervision to training officers and noncommissioned officers in btalions and reled requests for waivers of flying program requirements. Manages and directs the Additional Flight Training Period (AFTP) Program; audits and provides reports on utilizion, entitlement, and total program execution. Administers Flying Hour Program (FHP) and Operional Support Aircraft (OSA) priorities. Facilites direct communicion between supported and supporting units involving aviion support. Coordines joint training exercises. Ensures th all aviion support requirements will further collective training, both for aviion and supported ground units and will contribute to increased comb readiness. Supervises and coordines training program for ground commanders in use and planning for employment of Army aviion assets. (2) Serves as Aircraft Maintenance Manager and as a technical expert in the field of aircraft equipment maintenance with responsibility for coordinion of intermedie and limited Depot Maintenance Programs for the Army Aviion Support Facilities (AASFs). Provides coordinion and interface between the aviion facilities and such staff offices as USPFO, Support Personnel Management Office, Public Affairs, Emergency Operions Center, Facilities Management Office, and Ste Maintenance Office to insure smooth operion and function of the Ste Aviion Maintenance Program. Analyzes the maintenance management system da to determine cause and effect of adverse trends and problems. Takes action based on analysis to correct problems on adverse trends. Collects informion, provides advice, renders decisions, and prepares reports of corrective action. (3) Manages the aircraft inventory for the ste. Coordines between receiving and/or losing ste or facility for transfer documents, flight crew requirements, and transfer criteria for all aircraft transfers; works directly with facility Property Book Officers (PBOs) to monitor property book management. (4) Manages Physical Security Program in the SAAO and provides staff level support and assistance to physical security/operional security managers of the aviion units in the ste. Conducts physical security inspections and evaluions. (5) Has staff responsibility for the Army Aviion accident prevention program, to include semi annual safety meeting for all aircrew members. Coordines with the Nional Guard Bureau and the Army Aviion Center in mters pertaining to aviion safety. May be assigned to aircraft accident investigion teams, maintenance management review and foreign object damage. (6) Represents the SAAO conferences and meetings. Delivers formal and informal presentions. May participe as a ste Army aviion representive on inspection teams and staff s. Serves, as required, as chairman or member of boards pertaining to pilot flying stus, such as; federal recognition, flying evaluion, aircraft accident in flight standardizion. Attends conferences on aviion or reled subjects, participing with representives of other services and federal, ste, local, and civic agencies and organizions. (7) In the absence of the SAAO, the incumbent serves as advisor to the Adjutant General regarding ARNG aviion mters, performs liaison between the Adjutant General and user organizions in mter relevant to aviion and aircraft maintenance. Liaison is maintained with approprie agencies for logistic support of assigned aircraft and with Aviion Officers various Army headquarters. In these situions, the incumbent may exercise personnel management and supervision of aviion facilities. (8) Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: An applicant must have a competent understanding of the occupion's basic principles and concepts. Applicants should have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediely below the next higher level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Army Nional Guard Dual Stus Warrant Officer positions. Qualificion competencies are determined by three factors: The aircraft opered; the nure and purpose of assignments; and, the degree of hazard. For Army Nional Guard positions, must have working experiences in civilian aviion programs; or, in military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities; or, in Air Nional Guard Wing/ Operions Groups. To qualify, the applicant must have least two years specialized competencies in opering a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparion. Experienced in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experienced in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives.
