Look no further - Ingram Barge is looking to hire experienced leaders, who can safely navigate the inland waterways, while also driving a high-performance culture onboard the vessel! Job DescriptionPractice safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systems and policiesParticipate in safety drills and auditsSupervise the Mate and Deckhands in consultation with the Captain and shore-based leadershipAssure safe and efficient vessel navigation through compliance with the "rules of the road"Practice good seamanship and boat handling skillsComply and ensure the crew is complying with USCG and environmental laws and regulationsDemonstrate felt leadershipDelegate vessel responsibilities, duties and tasks considering crew members position and abilityAssist with crew evaluationsAssist in training of deck crewSteer tow up and down riverPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsDemonstration of the Ingram WayAbility to uphold Ingram's high safety standardsProven leadership abilitiesWorking knowledge of how to handle a large towAbility to respond quickly in an unexpected circumstanceAbility to apply basic critical thinking and decision-making skills to tow building and lockingAbility to work away from home for extended periodsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to demonstrate teamwork and acceptance of diversityStrong communication skills with all levels within the organizationIntermediate skills with MS Outlook and Internet ExplorerPossess High School Diploma or GED equivalentPossess a valid Driver's LicenseObtain or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)'Hold a Radar endorsementMust hold a Master of Towing Upon Western RiversMust be posted from Point Comfort - Houston to include Colorado river, Dickinson Bayou, and Cedar BayouMaster of Towing vessels Upon Great Lakes and Inland WatersHold a FCC Radio LicenseBe CPR/First Aid, AED Certified or willing to obtain upon hirePass a post-offer process if an offer is made (background check, drug screen, physical)Be able to climb a ladder and able to board and ride in a skiff
