Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Day Program Driver on a split shift schedule, where your energy and dedication will drive positive experiences for our community members. In this vital role, you will operate an accessible transportation vehicle, ensuring safe, reliable transportation for supported individuals to and from our day programs. Your mechanical knowledge and excellent driving skills will help maintain smooth operations, while your communication skills will foster a welcoming environment. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a fast-paced, supportive setting. Duties Safely operate a wheelchair accessible transit vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Transport supported individuals to and from day program locations with punctuality and professionalism Load and unload cargo or passengers efficiently using equipment like wheelchair lifts, or manual handling techniques Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly Communicate clearly with supervisor, scheduler, supported individuals, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any concerns Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure the well-being of passengers and team members at all times Experience Proven experience in accessible transit driving roles such as shuttle driving, delivery driving, or bus operation Familiarity with operating accessible vehicles Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting common issues Experience with loading/unloading cargo/individuals using wheelchair lifts. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors Knowledge of safety standards for assessable vehicle operation and route driving in urban or rural settings Prior experience working with specialized vehicles such as school buses or limousines is advantageous but not required Join us in delivering exceptional service through safe driving practices combined with a positive attitude! Pay:
