Job Description
Pineland BHDD is seeking a dependable Part‑Time Vehicle Operator to safely transport individuals receiving services at our Bulloch-Candler Service Center. This role plays a critical part in ensuring access to care and providing respectful, reliable transportation for individuals served by our programs. What You'll Do Transportation & Safety Safely operate agency vehicles including sedans, vans, wheelchair‑accessible vehicles, and buses Enforce seat belt use and follow all traffic and safety laws Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and safety restraints, including wheelchair securement Drive and accompany individuals on field trips or medically necessary outings Vehicle Maintenance & Reporting Perform pre‑trip safety inspections and routine vehicle checks (fuel, oil, battery) Clean and maintain vehicle interiors and exteriors Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly Arrange towing or alternate transportation when needed Deliver vehicles for scheduled maintenance or repairs Documentation & Professional Responsibilities Accurately complete mileage logs, passenger records, fuel usage, and inspection forms Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Communicate professionally with individuals served, staff, and the public What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Georgia Driver's License with a clean driving record Must be at least 21 years of age Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and MVR review CDL preferred Skills That Matter Safe and competent vehicle operation Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities Knowledge of local geographic areas and efficient routing Strong attention to safety and detail Professional, courteous communication skills Basic documentation, math, and computer skills (email use required) Why Join Pineland BHDD?
