Job Description

KVC Missouri Community Based ServicesLocation:
St. James, MOJob Summary The Youth Care Transporter is responsible for operating a motor vehicle to transport clients, staff, medications, equipment, records and other items as assigned to various destinations for medical and dental appointments, therapy appointments, trips, placement changes, and any other scheduled transportation arranged by their guardian.

Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when interacting with clients, providers, families, and external agencies.

Communicate clearly, concisely, and compassionately with clients, CBS teams, and external stakeholders.

Proactively review vehicle operation and mechanical systems to minimize unplanned downtimeComplete, maintain, and update mandatory training classes as assigned for all KVC employees and staff for CBS.Comply with city, county, state, licensing, Joint Commission, and federal regulations relating to vehicle operation. Work collaboratively with program staff, and leadership to coordinate services and resolve issues.
Task Expectations:
Operate various forms of transportation (automobiles, vans, trucks) on the roads and highways.

Provide clients with adequate supervision and controls. Maintain necessary records, following KVC policy and process, when using fleet vehicles for transportation.

Maintain medication dispensation certification as required for childcare workers and administer medications as necessary for patients during transportation.

Maintain trip records and delivery records as required.

Transports documents, medications, equipment, and other items as needed to follow all HIPPA and KVC policy requirements.

Remain on call for the purpose of transporting clients and other items as assigned.

Communicate with Community Based Services daily to secure instructions and assignments.

File reports on patient behaviors with workers, administrators, and directors.
Minimum RequirementsEducation:
High School Diploma/GEDLicensure/Certification:
Valid Class E Drivers License or equivalent and
Auto Insurance Qualifications:
Able to respond to crisis situations with an appropriate level of urgency and decisiveness.

Ability to move 50 pounds.

Written and verbal communication skillsSelf-awareness, patience, and the ability to work independently are essential. Maintain an exemplary record as a safe driver with no moving traffic violations.

Physically able to supervise and control patients.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience operating motor vehicles
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Proven experience transporting children.
