Companion Care Specialist - Join an Amazing Support Team We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Companion Care Specialist to join our support team working with an amazing 34-year-old adult with a disability. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, encouraging independence, and participating in fun community activities. Link below provides overview. The position will begin in a training role, working alongside a long-time team member and the individual's parents to learn routines, preferences, and support strategies. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning and collaborating as part of a supportive team.
Responsibilities include:
Providing companionship and positive daily support. Assisting with community outings and recreational activities. Helping maintain an organized, structured, and encouraging environment. Supporting technology-based activities and learning. Working collaboratively with family members and other team members.
Daily activities may include:
Visits to the Park Cities YMCA Shopping trips to Central Market Activities at Connecting Point Park Cities Disney-related activities, videos, and learning Exercise, wellness, and community participation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting adults with disabilities, special needs, or companion care. Comfortable navigating YouTube, Claude AI, and Google Drive. Strong computer and technology skills with patience in teaching and assisting others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, organized, and positive attitude. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record (if transportation is part of the role).
Bonus Qualifications:
Familiarity with Sesame Street's Elmocize exercise videos and other educational programming. Interest in Disney movies, community recreation, fitness, and creative activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys making a meaningful difference while spending the day engaged in fun, active, and enriching experiences.
