The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services in Loudoun County is actively seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Passenger Vehicle Operator. This role involves the transportation of clients to and from various centers, as well as assisting clients during the boarding and disembarking process. Program support may encompass participation in a range of activities, both indoors and outdoors, including crafts, exercise, games, and audio-visual presentations. Additionally, the position entails assisting with day trips from time to time. Furthermore, responsibilities may include setting up furniture for special events, collecting program fees, and conducting safety checks of the facility. We are currently hiring for the following location(s): Dulles South Senior Center, South Riding, VA Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing scheduled transportation for clients, operating the wheelchair lift, adhering to wheelchair tie-down protocols, and maintaining necessary client documentation. U pkeep of the vehicle and its associated records; conducting pre-trip inspections and maintaining daily logs; organizing routes and schedules and verifying that standard and safety equipment is present in the vehicle and functioning properly. Coordinating routes and schedules in collaboration with the manager and family members. Aiding members in situations of illness or accidents by applying first aid techniques and following universal safety protocols; ensuring that essential equipment is available on the bus for emergencies, including emergency contact information, a first aid kit, and a fire extinguisher. Providing daily assistance for programs at the Senior Center and fulfilling driving duties, including organizing small and large group activities, aiding in program development, supporting special events, assisting with the home-delivered meal initiative, overseeing café operations, and maintaining essential data and records. Safeguarding the confidentiality of both verbal and written information about clients' medical, personal, financial, and other private matters. It is possible that other essential duties related to the specific role and department may be performed as required. High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
