For over a decade, JMC has specialized in trailer-top ice and snow removal across the Northeast, with a strong commitment to road safety. We put our people first and believe strong teams, experienced leadership, and a safety-first culture are the foundation of the work we do. We pride ourselves on clear communication, teamwork, and thorough service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.Position Overview:
Are you looking for a seasonal role where you can stay active, work outdoors, travel, develop others, and be part of a team that makes a real difference when winter weather hits? At JMC, our work goes beyond clearing snow—we remove dangerous snow and ice buildup from the tops of tractor-trailers before those trailers return to the road, using ladders, snow shovels, and specialized safety equipment to help reduce the risk of snow and ice coming off moving trailers and creating hazards for other motorists. As a Field Trainer, you'll be part of a mobile team that travels throughout JMC's service area based on where winter weather creates the need. You'll drive a company service vehicle as you travel between training and service locations and train, coach, and support technicians in the field. You'll teach JMC's snow and ice removal processes, safety procedures, service standards, equipment use, documentation requirements, and day-to-day field expectations. This is a hands-on training role. Working with teams typically consisting of 1-3 technicians, you'll perform the same snow and ice removal work as the technicians you train. Team members rotate responsibilities throughout each service, including accessing trailer tops, removing accumulated snow and ice, assisting teammates from the ground, preparing and handling equipment, and helping maintain a safe and efficient work area. As a Field Trainer, you'll demonstrate JMC's standards through your own performance while working alongside the team. You'll observe technician performance, provide clear and constructive coaching, reinforce JMC's safety and service expectations, and help technicians develop the skills and confidence needed to successfully perform their roles. You'll assess training effectiveness, provide feedback on employee progress, and communicate with management regarding training needs, performance concerns, process improvements, and opportunities to strengthen our training program. Field Trainers are expected to lead by example in everything they do. Whether you're developing a technician or working alongside the team during a winter storm, you'll play an important role in preparing our teams to perform safely, confidently, and to JMC's standards. During larger snow events, travel may extend throughout our service area across 14 Northeastern states. This is a weather-dependent, physically demanding position where leadership, communication, adaptability, sound judgment, flexibility, and attention to safety are essential. If you're dependable, comfortable working outdoors, passionate about helping others learn and grow, flexible when winter weather hits, and ready to go where the snow takes you, join JMC's winter team and help make the roads safer.Key Responsibilities:
Hands-On Work & Leadership byExample:
Perform the same hands-on snow and ice removal work as the technicians you train while consistently modeling JMC's safety practices, service standards, communication, and field expectations. You're in the field working alongside the team—not just teaching or observing from the sidelines.Coaching & Mentorship:
Observe technician performance and provide clear, constructive feedback to help employees develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to successfully perform their roles.Evaluations & Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate technician progress and training effectiveness, identify areas requiring additional development, and adjust training approaches based on individual learning needs.Documentation:
Maintain accurate training records, performance information, employee progress, photos, service records, and other required documentation through JMC's systems.Collaboration:
Partner with management to communicate employee progress, identify training needs or performance concerns, recommend process improvements, and help strengthen training materials and programs.Travel:
Travel throughout JMC's service area for local and extended training assignments based on storm activity, operational needs, and training needs. _____________________________________________________________________________Job Requirements:
