$38.00 per hour + substantial tips Daytime Work. Purpose-Driven. On the Water. Treasure Seekers Shell Tours is seeking experienced USCG 6-Pack Captains for part-time, seasonal work leading private and semi-private shelling tours through the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge . This role is a natural fit for local captains, seasonal residents already in Southwest Florida, and retired military or service professionals who value structure, professionalism, and sharing hard-earned knowledge with appreciative guests. You'll operate our new Sea Pro 248 Bay Boats (with onboard restrooms) alongside Florida Master Naturalists and Shell Guides, delivering ethical, high-touch ecotourism experiences that guests regularly tip very well for. This is not a "run a boat and drop people off" job — it's guest-focused, educational, and stewardship-driven. What You'll Do Safely captain vessels through Marco Island and Ten Thousand Islands waters Deliver a calm, confident, and engaging guest experience Work with shell guides to help guests discover shells while learning why these ecosystems matter Share local knowledge and encourage responsible shelling practices Maintain vessels to yacht-level cleanliness and readiness This Role Is a
Great Fit If You:
Hold a valid USCG 6-Pack Captain's License Have 5+ years of commercial or professional boating experience Value professionalism, punctuality, and pride in your work Enjoy educating guests without lecturing Know local waters well (or know how to read them) Hold First Aid & CPR (or can obtain quickly) Can pass a drug test and meet marine insurance requirements Especially Encouraged to Apply Retired service members (military, law enforcement, fire, EMS) Seasonal residents already in Southwest Florida Captains seeking part-time, no-night-shift work
