Launch Operator

Eastern Point Yacht Club, located in beautiful Gloucester, MA, is seeking a qualified Launch Operator to join our team. The part-time position will span seasonally from April-October. The Launch Operator will act as Captain of our 26 ft. and 17ft. launch boats and will be responsible for the safe transport of club members between their vessels and the club's floating docks. The position requires a hospitality-minded individual who maintains the club's high standards for member service.

Requirements:

• USCG Limited Masters (Launch Tender License), minimum
• Enrollment in Maritime Consortium for random Drug Testing. (Enrolment provided through EPYC)
• Must be capable of safely operating a variety of vessels in all weather conditions
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to assist members and transient vessels with docking and mooring needs

• Physical Requirements:

  employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods, reach, climb, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform heavy lifting.
• Ensure Launch boats, docks and equipment are clean and operational at all times
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills, safety concerns and near misses immediately
• Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, USCG laws and adhere to all site rules and expectations
• Perform light maintenance tasks in periods of low vessel traffic
• Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned Experience with sailboat rigging and racing is a bonus but not required.

Schedule:

The part-time position will offer flexible hours but must be open to working weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Compensation:
