Job Description

Summer Lift Operator (Bike Park) •This part-time position is available immediately and will run through mid-October. Please see Winter Lift Operator if you are interested in winter employment.
Status :
Part-Time (24-29 hours/week) Starting Pay Rate- Minimum Wage (Pay increase based on seniority and performance)
Basic Function/Overview:
The summer Lift Operator is responsible for the operation of the South Branch Chair, and the loading and unloading of mountain bikes and guests.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform daily pre-operation checks of the lift to ensure safe operation and sign documents certifying that these inspections are completed. Operate the chairlift safely and responsibly, complying with all safety protocols and procedures. Load and unload guests onto the chair safely and responsibly. Load and unload mountain bikes onto the chair and ensuring they are secure. Complete emergency procedures. Keep work areas clean and safe. Perform post-operational duties including removal of trash, shutdown procedures, and locking stations. Assist Bike Patrol with the final sweep of mountain bike trails when necessary.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Customer service skills. Knowledge of the mountain bike trails and emergency access points. Ability to learn and follow all safety procedures to operate the chairlift.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service and/or outdoor labor experience is preferred. Intermediate-level mountain biking ability is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Move and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly for an 8-hour shift. Requires standing and walking for long periods of time. Tolerate exposure to variable weather such as extreme heat, dust, wind, and rain.
Work Environment:
Employees are exposed to: Moving mechanical parts. Outdoor weather conditions such as heat, rain, wind, dirt and dust. Vibrations. Moderate noise. Potential fumes or airborne particles. Risk of electrical shock.
