Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Part-Time Driver to handle local shipping and transport operations between our local manufacturing facility and our warehouse. In this role, you will drive a 1-ton pickup truck equipped with a gooseneck trailer and safely load/unload material using a stand-up forklift.
Key Responsibilities Local Transport:
Drive a 1-ton truck towing a gooseneck trailer to transport finished goods and raw materials between facility locations.
Material Handling:
Safely operate a stand-up forklift to load, unload, and stage cargo at both the manufacturing plant and warehouse.
Cargo Securing:
Properly strap, secure, and inspect loads on the gooseneck trailer prior to transport in accordance with safety standards.
Pre/Post-Trip Inspections:
Perform routine vehicle and equipment safety checks; report any maintenance issues promptly.
Inventory & Shipping Documents:
Verify load counts against packing slips or bills of lading (BOLs) to ensure accurate shipments.
Qualifications & Requirements Driver's License:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred depending on combined gross vehicle weight rating/GVWR, but not required if under non-CDL thresholds).
Driving Experience:
Proven experience towing and maneuvering gooseneck trailers or large equipment trailers in local traffic and tight backing situations.
Equipment Certification:
Certified or experienced in operating a stand-up forklift (reach truck / stand-up counter balance).
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs], secure heavy tie-down straps, and work on your feet in a warehouse environment.
Reliability:
Punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
